My Story

This is a story drenched in sparkle, starlight, and the thrill of being alive — a little glamorous, a little messy, and always overflowing with heart. It dances between laughter and mystery, the way faith flirts with doubt, or how love teases us into both mistakes and magic. At its core, it’s a legacy of passion passed down like a secret perfume, reminding us to savor every fleeting kiss of beauty this life offers.

Beneath the shimmer, it’s still a journey of growth, of learning, of healing, of daring to stay present even when the world feels too fast. It’s about loving wildly, crossing boundaries with joy, and becoming brighter versions of ourselves with every beat.

Step into a world where melodies dance with memories. I’m Maya Shaw, a pianist, singer-songwriter, and composer who pours the magic of my inner world into every note. Music has been my constant companion since I was four years old, guiding me through a journey of self-discovery, color, and emotion.

At fifteen, I uncovered a remarkable collection of over ten thousand poems and plays written by my grandfather, Irwin Robert Shaw, a New York poet and psychologist of the 1950s. Though we never met, his voice, captured on a rare four-hour tape, became a bridge between our worlds. His words, woven through my songs, breathe life into the album Unfocused Freedom, where past and present harmonize in a tapestry of beauty, pain, and wonder.

But Unfocused Freedom is only the beginning.
My biggest dream is to carry this music to the largest stages around the world, to gather people the way music once did, in freedom, joy, and abandon.
I want to create nights where the crowd doesn’t just listen, but sings every word with me, shouting it out loud until the music becomes ours together. A wave of connection, like a modern echo of Woodstock ’69 - raw, alive, unafraid, and free.

To believe in the magic that music can still awaken.

About to come

2025 has been a breakthrough year,  a time of growth, bold new releases, and unforgettable live moments. My album Unfocused Freedom continues to resonate, while a series of new singles this year has expanded my sound and connected me with even wider audiences. God Won’t Come set the tone at the start of the year with its viral teaser and explosive response, and since then each release has carried me closer to the bigger vision I’ve been chasing: making music that is raw, cinematic, and alive.

As 2026 unfolds, I am stepping fully into that vision. I’ll be touring across the U.S, bringing my songs to stages big and small, with shows that fuse intimacy with spectacle. Alongside the tour, I’m preparing the release of a new album, a daring blend of ABBA-inspired tunes reimagined with a modern touch, wrapped in the glamour of the 50's. It’s vintage and futuristic all at once, timeless but fresh, designed to make people dance, feel, and dream again.

The journey ahead is about more than song, it’s about building a movement, a soundscape of freedom and connection that audiences can step into, sing along to, and carry with them long after the lights go down.

“There has to be one single moment,

Intimate, when I can say, oh to hell with it ,

and let joy unfold Into its happiness.”
